- "Client", "you", "your" — refers to any person who submits an enquiry, brings a watch to the workshop, or engages our services in any capacity.

- "Piece" — refers to any watch or watch component left in the care of Jam Sauh for service or assessment.
- "Quote" — refers to the written cost estimate provided by Jam Sauh prior to commencement of work.
- "Agreement" — refers to these Terms and Conditions, accepted when you submit an enquiry or leave a piece for assessment.
2. Acceptance of terms
By leaving a piece with us, submitting a contact form, or verbally commissioning a service, you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms and Conditions. You must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into an agreement. If you are leaving a piece on behalf of another person, you confirm you have authority to do so.
3. Services offered
Jam Sauh provides the following services:
- Complete overhaul with parts sourcing for mechanical watches, primarily those produced between the 1960s and 1990s.
- Bracelet restoration and link repair.
- Storage and winding advice visits for collections.
We reserve the right to decline any job that falls outside our scope of competence. In such cases, we will communicate this to you promptly and, where possible, suggest an appropriate alternative workshop. We carry no liability for work we have declined to undertake.
4. Quotes and pricing
All quotes are issued in writing following inspection of the piece. A quote contains separate line items for labour and for any parts required. No work will begin without your written or verbal acceptance of the quoted cost.
Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. If a piece is not collected or work is not confirmed within this period, we will contact you to discuss next steps.
Parts sourcing may result in cost revisions. If the cost of a sourced part exceeds the estimate or a suitable part cannot be found within an agreed price range, we will contact you before proceeding. You may pause or cancel the job at this point without incurring any cost beyond work already completed and agreed to.
All prices are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.
5. Intake and storage of pieces
When a piece is left with us, we will issue a written intake record describing the piece and noting any pre-existing damage or marks. You are asked to confirm this record is accurate at the time of drop-off.
All pieces in the workshop are stored in locked premises overnight and tracked in our job management system from intake to collection. We take reasonable care of all items in our possession. However, we cannot accept liability for loss or damage resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including theft by forced entry, fire, or flood.
We recommend that clients maintain their own insurance for valuable pieces while in transit or in our care.
6. Timelines
All timelines are provided as estimated ranges, not fixed completion dates. Parts sourcing for discontinued references in particular may extend the timeline. We will notify you in writing if the estimated timeline changes at any point during the job.
We carry no liability for costs or losses arising from a delay in completion, including costs associated with travel to collect a piece.
7. Collection
You will be contacted when a piece is ready for collection. Pieces not collected within 60 days of notification will be subject to a storage fee of RM 5 per day. Pieces uncollected after 180 days may, at our discretion, be handled in accordance with Malaysian law regarding abandoned property after formal written notice to your last known contact details.
All outstanding amounts must be settled prior to collection. We accept cash and bank transfer.
8. Client responsibilities
- To provide accurate information about the piece, including any known history, previous repairs, and damage.
- To maintain current contact details so that we can reach you during the course of the job.
- To respond to written updates within a reasonable time — typically five working days — so as not to delay the job unnecessarily.
- To collect the piece within 60 days of notification of completion.
9. Intellectual property
All content on this website, including text, layout, and design, is the property of Jam Sauh. You may not reproduce or repurpose any material from this website without prior written consent.
Service records and written communications issued by Jam Sauh may be kept for personal reference but may not be published or distributed without consent.
10. Disclaimers
Our services are provided on a best-efforts basis. We do not warrant that any specific accuracy target will be achieved following regulation, as mechanical watch performance depends on factors including wear pattern, positional variation, and the age of the movement.
We do not claim that any service will restore a piece to original factory specification. We will describe realistic expected outcomes in the quote and service record.
Information provided through our storage and winding advice service is intended as general guidance based on observed conditions. It does not constitute professional valuation advice.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Malaysian law, our liability to you for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses, including any loss of sentimental value.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
12. Cancellation
You may cancel a job at any time before work begins, at no charge. If work has commenced, you will be responsible for the labour cost for work completed to that point, plus any parts already ordered on your behalf.
We reserve the right to decline or discontinue a service if we determine that the work cannot be completed to an acceptable standard. In such a case, no charge will be made for incomplete work.
13. Dispute resolution
If you have a concern about the service provided, contact us at [email protected]. We will aim to acknowledge your concern within five working days and work toward a resolution informally in the first instance.
If informal resolution is not reached, any dispute arising from or related to these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, under Malaysian law.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The most current version will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our services after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
